| Anaphylaxis Canada
has helped raise public awareness about life-threatening allergies, making
Canada a safer place for individuals at risk. In the past few years, we've
developed:
- Two first-rate websites
- The S.A.F.E. (Support Allergic Friends Everywhere)
program for schools
- An expanded newsletter that reaches all Canadian allergists
- The Canadian Anaphylaxis Registry
- Several research projects
- The Canadian Anaphylaxis Research Award
- Phone support services
We have been asked to advise as consultants to the media,
Health Canada, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, the Canadian School
Boards Association, the food and travel industries, and the Hospital for
Sick Children.
We have been able to do this valuable work thanks to the
generous donations we receive each year. But much remains to be done.

Did you know that:
Over 600,000 Canadians are at risk for anaphylaxis
4% to 8% are children
There is no cure for anaphylaxis
Quality of life is impacted by the need for ongoing vigilance
Allergies to peanut, tree nuts, and shellfish are often life-long
A minute amount of an allergy-causing substance can trigger a potentially
life-threatening reaction
From our donors:
“I am sending this donation because I have
witnessed the severity of this condition. Keep up the good work, it
IS saving lives.”
J.R.B.
“When my infant son was diagnosed,
my whole world was turned upside down. Thanks to Anaphylaxis Canada
I have the support and information I need to keep him safe, and I have
my confidence back.”
