May 18, 2001 Neilson brand dark chocolate ingredients: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning consumers with milk allergies not to consume a range of products made with Neilson branded dark chocolate ingredients (see http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/corpaffr/recarapp/20010511e.shtml#li). A line of dark chocolate ingredients made by Neilson International Limited, Toronto is primarily used in the manufacture of consumer products by chocolate manufacturers, speciality chocolate shops, bakeries, cookie manufacturers, donut shops and restaurants, and is also sold as bulk food items. Neilson has voluntarily recalled its affected dark chocolate ingredients. Consumers are advised to ask retailers, bulk stores and stores which sell unlabelled products if the products contain undeclared milk. Retailers and distributors should verify with their suppliers if they have received implicated products. The CFIA is currently investigating various manufacturers and distributors to have products containing undeclared milk protein recalled from the marketplace. As this investigation proceeds and new products are identified, the CFIA will be posting the list of products being recalled on the CFIA Web site at the above URL. January 4, 2001 Allan Crème Egg 30g or Allan Caramel Egg 30g do not contain peanuts, but are manufactured on a production line used for other peanut products. All codes are affected. The outer carton for both four-packs and three-packs clearly displays a warning that reads, "May contain traces of peanuts", but the individual foils on each of the eggs do not. We adhere to strict Good Manufacturing Practices, and take care to fully and thoroughly clean the production lines between runs to minimize any potential of cross-contamination.
