MICHAEL PRICE is
currently a director and volunteer President of the Board
of Directors of Anaphylaxis Canada. Michael is an independent
consultant currently working with Canada Post on Postal Transformation.
Michael has a 15 year-old son who is allergic to dairy, egg,
shellfish, penicillin and anaphylactic to nuts and tree nuts.
JANE SALTER MD
is the Past President of Anaphylaxis Canada. Jane is involved
in all aspects of the organization and has been working to
develop relationships with related allergy organzations, corporations,
government bodies and the medical community. Jane is also
a practising physician. She has a 12-year-old daughter who
is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, chickpeas and soy.
DAVID ULLMANN is
currently a director of Anaphylaxis Canada. David is an associate
with Minden Gross Grafstein & Greenstein Firm. David practices
extensively with respect to insolvency and in particular,
insolvent technology companies. David received his B.A.H.
in history at Queen's University and his LL.B. from Osgoode
Hall Law School. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1999.
David is anaphylactic to peanuts.
CAL BRICKER is currently a director of Anaphylaxis Canada.
Cal is the vice president, public affairs, for Waste Management
of Canada, the Canadian division of North America's largest
comprehensive waste services company. He is also a member
of the Board of Governors for Wilfrid Laurier University,
a director of the Canada Institute Advisory Committee of the
Woodrow Wilson Centre for Scholars, a Director of the Canadian
Journalism Foundation, where he is also on the Management
Committee of the Excellence in Journalism Project, and an
External Associate of the York Centre for International and
Security Studies. Cal holds a PhD degree in Political Science
from the University of Alberta. He has a 12 year old son with
anaphylaxis to nuts.
KITTY CAIRNS is
an experienced teacher of the deaf, a prolific volunteer,
and a devoted parent of two young boys, one of whom is allergic
to peanuts. As the National Support Group Coordinator, Kitty
plays an important role, helping volunteers across Canada
establish support groups within their local communities. Kitty
co-authored the reference manual for support groups and also
hosts an annual training and networking conference for leaders.
As founder and past president of the Niagara Anaphylaxis Support
and Knowledge group, Kitty continues to advocate for change
within her own community.
CELIA DENOV is
a Registered Social Worker, and a principal of C. Denov &
Associates, policy consultants. Celia was formerly an Ontario
Public Servant with the Ministries of Health, and Community
and Social Services and took early retirement at the level
of Assistant Deputy Minister. Celia has had an anaphylactic
allergy to sesame seeds since childhood and survived a cardiac
arrest at age 24.
LISA HAMATHER is currently a director of Anaphylaxis Canada.
Lisa is a Partner with Jarislowsky Fraser Limited, one of
the largest Canadian investment management firms specializing
in the management of both pension and private client assets.
She completed her Master of Business Administration at the
Rotman School of Business in Toronto. Lisa has a five year
old son that is allergic to adhesive bandages and anaphylactic
to peanuts and tree nuts.
MARK HUNDERT is National Director of the Hay Health Care Consulting Group. His consulting focuses on the analysis and improvement of hospital governance and management and the application of quantitative techniques to the analysis, planning and delivery of health care services. Mark is a Certified Member of the Canadian College of Health Services Executives and is a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. He serves on the editorial board of "Health Management Forum". Mark has two grown sons with life-threatening allergies to tree nuts and peanuts. He has been active with AC and its predecessor organizations for almost 20 years.
DARLENE LEAVER is recently retired
from the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) as Superintendent
of Student and Community Services. In her capacity as Superintendent,
Darlene managed the development and implementation of the
TDSB Anaphylactic Reaction Administrative and Operational
Procedures. She is currently an educational consultant and
facilitator working with various associations and boards of
education in the areas of professional development and strategic
planning.
DOUG PERRY is currently a director of Anaphylaxis Canada.
Doug has held the following Executive positions at Rogers
Communications. Vice-President of Small Business Markets for
Rogers Business Solutions(RBS), Vice-President of Sales and
Distribution for Rogers Communications and Vice-President
and General Manager of Ontario Northeast for Rogers Wireless.
Doug enjoys an active lifestyle, coaches hockey and soccer
in the community and has two children that are both Anaphylactic
to peanuts and tree nuts.
ALLAN REYNOLDS
is currently a director of Anaphylaxis Canada, having special
involvement in public and media relations. Allan is Vice President
of Industry and Member Relations for the Canadian Association
for Pharmacy Distribution Management, a leading healthcare
business association. Allan is involved in strategic public
affairs planning and counsel for a wide range of corporate,
public sector and non-profit clients. He is also a member
of the board of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario
and a member of the Toronto Board of Trade program development
committee. Allan has two children, one of whom is a 25 year-old
with an anaphylactic allergy to peanuts.
JAYME YEUNG is currently a director of Anaphylaxis Canada
and acts as treasurer. She is a chartered accountant and works
in the tax department of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, one of
the largest global public accounting firms. Jayme had a grandfather
who was anaphylactic to penicillin and certain foods. Jayme
also has several food and drug allergies.
LAURIE HARADA is a non-voting member of the Board. She began volunteering in 2000 when she established the Toronto Anaphylaxis Education Group and was hired in May 2003 as the Executive Director. Laurie is the mother of a 10 year-old son with multiple food allergies. Laurie has a background in education and spent 11 years at an international food company
